Born in the Richmond District, Steve Aveson is a 3rd generation San Franciscan. His grandfather lived through the 1906 earthquake and went on to become a construction engineer on the Golden Gate Bridge, while his mother was raised in the boarding school at Notre Dame de Victoires near Chinatown.
“Steve brings with him a solid journalistic background and a deep connection to the Bay Area, “said Ashley Gold Messina, KRON4’s Vice President and General Manager.
A graduate of St. Ignatius College Prep in the Sunset district, Steve went to the University of California at Santa Barbara before taking a year to travel with the Circus. He graduated from Wheelock College in Boston, where he began his career in journalism. Between those two enterprises he has managed to tell stories in all 50 States.
